Second character design, step-1

Very rough sketch, an effort of 20 minutes and not cleaned up at all.

Zaved bhai, me and dhanad met 2 days ago to plan this cartoon project (story). we distributed our tasks on that day. Our plan is to upload all the sketches/steps here. Zaved bhai will do the 2nd character design and the room decoration. I will do the bridge and non-bridge scene, Dhanad will do the color part after sketch. This is our initial plan. Anyone interested are most welcome to do anything as they like for this project. We will upload our sketches soon. Thanks

here are some skteches of lake/river view with the bridge. you can consider the color one as a final view. post your opinion.

ooo .. killer sketches, Asif. I really love the picture without the bridge and love to see some colors on it. Can you put some digital color on it?
For the bridge picture, the second one from the top looks perfect to me minus the curtains.

May be we can change the story a little. Maybe the characters wont have to go to a river bank or something instead they can have the conversation before pictures - what do you think? Then, it will be easier to use Asif's sketches provided that they are framed and hanging on the wall.

Good job, Asif.

Nice asif bhai, ya...i was thinking abt the one with the bridge...it makes more sense to look at a picture and talk abt it...also it doesnt have to be a picture in a frame...could be like when they are talking abt the bridge the screen will focus on the scene with the two ministers overlooking the whole scenery...something like as if they are instantly teleported to that place. just a suggestion ofcourse.

Ok, we have a few ideas now, let's see how we can put these up altogether.
I'll finish the full scale character design by today and hopefully tomorrow I'll put 'em up.

team, I have just done initial coloring with this scene. I will do it in detail. but before that i need to know whether this coloring process will work or not.

We can suggest any color/comic style to follow. I have found a style in net, which is based on solid colors and shade. in which direction we should move? do you understand what i am trying to say :)

Hi all.......

i just read the story........not that much bad at all....r u going to make a comic strip based on this script?.well......

character & the background both must be strong & bold .....which catch the attention of the audience....
First create a character!!!! i mean CHARACTER with personality.......for that u need to draw 5 - 10 sketches to finalize the characters........

Less line + more expression..........option A
Sketchy lines + dramatic tone ...........option B
FX + dynamic camera angle............option C

Drawing & coloring quality of your team decides the style of the comic.

solid coloring [saw an eg.on one page] is good if u can draw perfect figure construction......
Otherwise sketchy style is ............u know ;)

Its a good attempt ..carry on.........
contact me if u want .....

Asif, fantastic! Watercolor right? Your sketch was perfect for water color and it looks awesome after you did.

I understand, you are talking about cell shading. Actually that's in my mind as well. I've got the characters and one environment almost ready, but not 100% yet. I'll post them as soon as I finish.
I had a chat with Ahsan Habib and we are good to go if we can finish before 25th April.

Shudhi, thanks for the advice. Do you have any sample of your work to share with us? May be we can fill you in for our upcoming adventures. And yes, we are trying for a comic strip and of course a colored one. The things you see in this thread are mostly initial design stage attempts.

ahan Shudhi bhai, perfect cartoonist! good to see you man. hope you will help us. Please upload some of your cartoons :D. I saw some from one of my colleague. Pretty cool (y). Shudi bhai, if upload some example of Option A, B and C, then it will help us.
Zaved bhai: better you upload your one first for reference. then we can move forward. I hope we can finish it before 25 :). Today I will try with solid colors with same scene.
