After a year and a half spent in Sweden's IT University at the crossroads of Art and Technology, I decided to write an article about my understandings and confusions on the subject. It was published in the Financial Express in Dhaka months back.

There has been a lot of interplay between technology and art, so as to move the relation from just using technology (for example, Photoshop-like software) to produce art, to the technology being an actual component of an art piece, to be the paint, as it were. Photography at its early days took a long time to be accepted widely as an art form, and this fact may seem strange to a lot of us at present. But how many of us would really appreciate the art that is now being made where the technology is like the paint on the canvas of the art? I wonder if we will have another renaissance period and this time for the contribution and evolution of art by the digital painters, our modern age impressionists or if you want to call them digital leonardo, michelangelo, donatello and raphael. To most ppl using a digital paintbrush still seems alien, they still like to think there is nothing better than good ol traditional media...yes, i agree but that doesnt mean we can reach out and embrace skies that holds limitless possibilities...i believe that's the only way we can evolve (as far as art is concerned). Its a beautiful thing, using technology and art together.
