the second logo is better than the other two in my opinion but it needs some finishing touch

the font that you used for the word "Resource Center" is stretched and not centralized or aligned properly. the green outline also doesn't fill up the blank space after the word Center. the symbol on top is a good idea to show the aspect of multiple resources but again its an overly used idea and also putting it in its current condition is making the whole logo unbalanced. if the client has asked for the cube then may be you can try a perfect cube shape (currently its a bit rectangular) and put it on top, perfectly centralized with the green box (i know you have tried to align it with the tip of the triangle, but it is not making a good alignment) and then centralize the tagline as well.

that's only my humble opinion, nice job though :)

All of the above logos are famous in their field. but mark the symbolism plz. They simply create a symbol to get the brand introduced to the public even their activities or services are not reflecting to the symbol.

Thats what i meant. :D

Amit > 2nd logo is not Mercedes Benz. Its Mitsubishi Logo :)

My opinion on meaning of logos:
If 3 Stripes, Tick and Rabbit sysmbols immediatey give you the idea of Adidas, Nike and Playboy consequently then what's wrong by knowing that they don't have any meaning. Unfortunately they got meaning when those were developed. It is not necessary for a symbol/logo to carry the direct maning of what the company does. May be it can carry the spiritual meaning which is not obvious to us but serves as their way. When a company got so many different products its hard incorporate all in a logo unless you attempt like UNILEVER. Even the logos Amit posted, all have their own meaning when they were developed on that time. You can find few of them from here: http://www.logoorange.com/logodesign-A.php

Beside that here are some interesting statistics I used in my journal(Logo Design and Designer)on logo-

According to the ‘Top 100 Global Brands Scoreboard’ the top 50 brands & logo designs in the world are:
9 4 % The name does not describe the product sold
9 0 % The by-line tag is not included in the logo
8 4 % The font style is clean and clear
7 4 % The logo design uses letters only without the symbol
7 4 % The logo design uses one colour only (black and white are not counted as a colour)
7 2 % The logo design is a made-up name or ACRONYM
6 6 % The logo design is rectangular in shape
6 2 % The logo design is one word only
5 2 % The name is 6 letters or less
5 2 % The background is filled and solid
4 4 % The name uses upper & lower case (excluding ACRONYMS)
4 4 % The pronunciation includes three sounds/syllables
4 0 % The predominant colour base is blue
5 4 % The logo design includes the trademark symbol and its placed in the top right

Yes Asif Bhai>>You are right. Symbol without any meaning to the company or it's activities is some kind of ancient style now -a-days.may be thats why, most of the designer prefer to do typography based logo.i simply adore typography based logo.

Asif Bhai Statistics ta apnar journal a dekhselam........thanks for sharing
