Hey Shabbir, let me see if I can help you a little more in the form of a tutorial.

Image

Step 1: I have chosen a simple picture from the daily newspaper. In my case it was Prothom-Alo's yesterday's copy. So, the reference image's credit goes to them. Simple ekta example diye try korlam jeTate both light shading and blending shamanno demonstrate kora jaye.

Step 2: Rough sketch. This is very very important. karon, ekhane apni apnar piece er proportion thik kore neben. onek tits bits ache jegulate rough touch na thakle final touch dewa khub kothin hoye jaye. So, rough sketch korleo sheTa complete kora uchit. Keno? For example, amar rough portion e ami hands and fingers dei nai, bhabsilam detailing er shomoy diye dibo. But, I skrewd up and there was no point of return.
Tips:
a) always use soft pencils. ami mechanical 2b (oneke Lead pencil o bole) use kori. aro hard pencil (HB) use kora jaye. but soft pencil like 2b use korar shubidha hochche, you do not have to put much pressure. soft lead use korle pressure dite hoye - kagoje daag pore jaye. As a result erase korar shomoy muche jaye na.
b) ei step er uddessho proportion ta thik kore newa. means, mukh theke haat, kobji, pa koto dure thakbe sheta fix kore newa. jotokkhon na thik hochche, keep trying. remember, this is the rough one and will be erased before the final piece.

Step 3: ei particular format (dots) e rough stroke gula problem kore. clean na thakle dot er shathe rough pencil er daag gulaye jete pare. So, I created my final outline. Using an inking pen. Pilot hole bhalo hoye. 4v, 5v, 6v khub bhalo kaaje daye. Amar kache shosta ekta pen chilo, sheta diye kora. I just marked the whole rough sketch with the pen, dot by dot. Remember, NO STROKES. This format does not support any stroke during the entire process.
Tips: Use dots. emon bhabe pen use korben jeno nib er TIP ta shudhu kagoje poRe. For example Image Green is right, Red is wrong. Try to avoid dots like that in the red.

Step 4: This step is fun and easy, but time consuming. Concept ta khub simple, jekhane dark shekhane beshi dot, jekhane halka shekhane olpo dot, jekhane light, shekhane no dot :). eta dekhte amar kache always jotil mone hoye, kintu ashole korata otoTa jotil na.
Now, see the Orna? ekhane blending er beparta ashche. dot gular moddhekar space aste aste baralei blending effect chole ashbe - easy.
ami reference use korsi, so, lighting niye chinta korar kichu nai, reference ei lighting kothaye ki hobe bojha jachche, amar kaaj shudhu amar pen er DOT diye implement kora. Same simple ploicy - darker the shade, condensed the dots, lighter the shade seperated the dots.
Tips: While dotting, use a path or pattern. Do not put the dots haphazardly. For example:
Image
Green is right, red is wrong. You can decide for yourself why.

Hope this helps. Any questions, please shoot.

Zaved bhai, how do you find inspirations? Since you are employed in different industry, you got a family, how do you manage time to do these?
